Bricriu is a Will o' the Wisp native to the Scottish highlands. Some time before meeting Fi, Bricriu grew bored of Scotland and moved to warm, dry, Texas.

As a Will o' the Wisp, Bricriu possesses the powers to teleport himself and others to the Nexus, the ability to possess bodies, the power to freeze time, and the ability to conjure fire. (Will o' the Wisp, Destiny)

First Encounter with Fiona Phillips[]

On a trip to Marfa, Texas, Fi, Jack, and Clu have an encounter with the famed "Marfa Lights." After Fi and Clu run off, Bricriu lures Jack away and then possesses him. When Fi starts to suspect something, she discovers that Jack is possessed by a Scottish Spirit known as a Will o' the Wisp, or Spunkie; however, before she can tell her mother, Bricriu whisks them away to the Nexus ("a place between the mortal and spirit worlds") in order to absorb Jack's memories so he can play the role more convincingly. He tells her that the only way to banish him is to invoke his true name, which she gets one chance at guessing. After bargaining with the spirit, she exploits a technicality (unlimited guesses) to use a computer program to guess his true name and, even though he offers her the chance to speak with her father, she discovers his true name. She manages to banish him, but not before receiving a warning that he'll be back... (Will o' the Wisp)

Second Encounter with Fiona Phillips[]

En route to a concert, Bricriu reappears, causing Ned to swerve off the road and damage the bus. The group exists the bus to investigate. This time, Bricriu possesses Molly. At a car garage, Bricriu tells Jack to keep Fi away from a mechanic named Tom Martinez, saying he's troubled. Sure enough, Tom nearly walks into an active blow torch and visions of fire flash into his mind. Fi starts questioning another mechanic, when Bricriu tells Fi to not bother the nice man, calling her "little duck." Fi takes Bricriu into the bus where she is about to banish him, when he makes a deal to leave in exactly 24 hours time. Later, despite being told not to, Fi and Jack go to visit Tom at his house. Bricriu shows up again, insisting that they both leave then threatens to make Tom's vison a reality. Fi attempts to banish Bricriu but because of their deal, the banishment fails to work.

At the concert, Fi sneaks outside to speak with Tom again. Bricriu appears next to them, conjuring fire to scare Tom away. All three of them run into a warehouse, the same warehouse in Tom's vision. Tom divulges more information to Fi. Angry, Bricriu conjures more fire and brings Tom's vision to life. Since the 24 hours are now up, Bricriu leaves Molly's body, and flies away. (Destiny)

Final Encounter with Fiona Phillips[]

The episode opens with Molly's friend, Lisa Thelen, and her daughter, Annie come to visit. During dinner, Fi sees Bricriu again and he tells her what he wants: "YOU." Lisa talks to Molly, expressing concern that dragging Annie around might not be good for her, and asks Molly if Annie might be able to go on tour with them. Despite her objections, Molly agrees to think about it.

Bricriu comes back and tries to possess Annie, but cannot as she is "protected, off-limits, forbidden." Instead, he rebounds off of her and lands inside Fi's laptop. He reveals to Fi that he wants her to read a spell out of the book of Celtic Magic, but she reads another spell that turns everyone except her into animals. She makes a deal with Bricriu to read the spell he'd originally wanted her to read and is told that she can't change everyone back without the book, which vanished. She enlists Annie's help to find the pages of the book, which had been transformed with everyone else. Piecing the book back together, she invokes the spell and changes everyone back, but is reminded by Bricriu of their deal. When she asks him what the spell does, he informs her that it will make her unable to enter the spirit world and therefore, severing her connection to the paranormal. When she reads the spell, her ring's engraving vanishes to embody its effects.

Fi then disconnects the internet cable from her laptop and traps Bricriu on a floppy disk, never to be seen again. Though later, Fi tells Annie that she is cleaning bad files off the hard drive. Whether this means she deleted Bricriu or simply left him trapped on the floppy disk is unclear. (Lightning Rod)
